Not sure where we had this thread before but one of my favorites.
I will start. First time trying this. Back strap wrapped in bacon grilled on the egg. I am at 200 degrees and planning on 1.5-2 hours. Updates to follow
I wish I could keep her out but she is my mother in-law! I didn't know how it would turn out so I played it safe for the kids. They loved it. MIL tried one bite and said it was okay. Shouldn't have wasted one bite on her.
I'll share what I do for a good side dish with venison, chicken or burgers. Slice zucchini into 1/2" thick strips lengthwise, sweet onions the same thickness, and green and red peppers into quarters. Put them all into a plastic bowl with a tight-fitting lid or a gallon zip-lock bag. Dump some Italian salad dressing into bowl or bag ( don't skimp ) and seal lid or zip-lock. Toss around until well coated & place in frig. for 6 hrs. ( or over night for more intense flavor ).
I grill them in a stainless, 2" deep, 18" x 12" grill pan that has 5/16" holes in it AFTER the meat is done and is " resting " to re-absorb juices. Veggies only take about 5 to 10 minutes once the grill is already hot - depending on temperature. We like them when they just get some brown on them. Delicious !!!
Here is my favorite marinade for steak tips.
16oz coke
1 cup ketchup
1 packet of good seasons salad dressing mix.
If you want it spicey add your choice of heat.
Marinate for 24 hours.
I can't compete with that! The coon were gracious enough to leave us a few ears of sweetcorn from our first planting. Yes, I like it cut off the ear. We like it cut off the ear and fried in a pan too.
