Trumps horrible economic policies followed by Bidens horrible economic policies, what did we expect? We got what we deserved.
Only bright side is the US economy is doing better than any nation in terms of economic growth. Still doesn't make up for the inflation.
Is it the roots or the stalk that's the problem?
Here is what mine looks like after mowing, pretty chopped up. Would only really be worries about the roots at this point in the tiller.
Some of the yellow rocket mixed in with the crimson/rye. SW WI.
Rye is between knee and waist high. Plan is to mow about 2 acres of this and till it under. Then spray and plant corn into it.
The more I look into ways of terminating cover crops, it seems like a flail mower is the way to go versus a crimper. Studies I've seen show they are more successful at terminating (in percentages) and they also have some practical use outside of cover crops, unlike a crimper.

Still haven't gotten into the fields to plant anything yet. Been raining every other day which has slowed down my tree planting and other projects planned before spring plots.
Supposed to have a creek...
I no tilled corn into rye last year and didn't terminate the rye at planting, that was a big mistake. The corn fought the rye for nitrogen and struggled all year long after the slow start. Doesn't sound like the same thing you're talking about but something to keep in mind.
