Name these things on my white oak?

Maybe something to do with catkins, i hope?

Yep, has to be it. I know the above is red oak but they look similar.

I think it's wool sower gall. I found it on my young white oaks as well.

Looks right. So, I should remove them, correct?

I left them on mine. My understanding is the wasps are harmless, and the gall(s) are mainly cosmetic with regard to the tree.
