I think you’ll be surprised at what that will look like when your spring greenup comes. That fire was probably the best thing that has happened on that property in a long time.
I love food plots but there will be lots of native browse that comes up that the deer will enjoy. And best of all, it...
I’ve used a regular RR forage bean and they are fine. It was a small 1 acre plot and some of the plants were able to make a couple of beans. The plants were only able to grow to about 4-5” though.
I did not read all of the post so forgive me if this was mentioned.
A drag harrow. It would be perfect for scratching the surface and getting smaller seeds to grow.
Snow? What is this white stuff y’all speak of? Lol
That is way too much of that. 1-2” a year is plenty. Don’t know how y’all tolerate that much of that stuff.
Are you 100% sure Imox can be used on Chicory? I didn’t think you could use anything on chicory.

LMC is a large company down here in Georgia that makes real farming equipment much of it associated around peanuts.
It’s heavy duty for sure. Part of me likes the cultipacker and part wonders if the closing wheels would be better. I’m sure the cultipacker helps keep the cost lower but it’s not like $15k is low.
Small seeds would do just fine behind the packer but if you were trying to drill into standing...
For all that care, LMC makes a decent looking no till drill. It’s called the HDNT 65. Weighs about 2000lbs. It’s fairly new to the market so no real info on it now. I looked at one and it looks well made but it’s also $15,000.00 so definitely not a significantly cheaper option than the other...
The eat a lot more when they’re small. Heard when they get real big that they actually don’t eat very much.
I’ve also heard that if they learn to eat the fish food that they will slow down eating the grass.
