My theories and beliefs on odors, odor reduction, and how individual deer may react have evolved quite a bit over my last 53 deer seasons.
There are countless variables involved, too many to test and prove or disprove. But there are some undeniable realities regarding the topic.
One reality is...
No worries about the location in this case. It's in heavy cover/ sanctuary a couple hundred yards from the house. Lots of overhead cover so it's not getting much sunlight.
Thanks guys.
Mulberry was what I init thought but when I looked at some internet pics, the leaves were basically shaped like a football and the fruit looked like elongated blackberries.
My young tree had only a few, tiny berries and they were round.
Nevertheless, I agree that it is...
Ain't it nice that the level of your sensitivity went in the right direction?! I'm a little bit that way too I think. I don't get it nearly as bad as I used to and my property, and surrounding woods are loaded with major PI vines and patches, plus I am in it all of the time.
I will say however...
Definitely!
I used to work with a guy who made fun of me when I would get the rash. He'd boast "Haha, I don't get PI". I'd tell him "you mean you haven't gotten it YET", and he's scoff. He hit his 50s and now he's allergic. (I try not to laugh at him!)
Just be careful of which herbicide you are using because if it's soil active, it just might kill any trees within several feet of where you treated the ivy.
Several years ago, I planted redbuds around my property and I noticed that one tree has little seed pods for the 1st time this year.
Educate me on the pods.
Will they drop as a pod?
Are they eaten by deer?
Can I plant them? If so, do they need statified?
Anything else?
Thanks.
Who has been following the show "The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch"?
The stuff they are investigating and encountering on that show is very intriguing. I was quite skeptical when I started watching it. I thought it was a bit phoney, but the more I watched, the more it sucked me in.
I have a hard...
I can't speak for turkeys but my deer definitely eat the leaves. Seems like they prefer the leaves as they are semi-yellow, just before leaf drop.
I also see some light browsing on the twigs.
Update...
My neighbor got new O rings and put them in their PROPER location.
Splitter no longer leaks.
He said he looked on the internet for discussions on it and it seems other people are complaining about leaky valves on their Rough Made. They too probably got splitters with the rings...
I'm lucky to have my neighbor helping me on this.
He was a mechanic/ machinist in the steel mill for 30+ years and he also has his own, well equipped machine shop. He knows hydraulics, and pretty much every other thing "mechanical". He has tools, equipment and he knows how to use them.
He seems fairly certain that there was nothing actually wrong with the spool valve. He's pretty sure that the rubber rings were swapped. There's a round O ring (cross section profile) and a rubber backer ring (that is square cross section profile) and it's critical that each is in the proper...
Coming from the spool valve body. Rough Made wouldn't warrant the original spool (the rep on the phone was annoying) so we bought a new spool ~$100ish. That one leaks too. My neighbor is a expert mechanic/machinist who knows his stuff. He believes the O ring and the backer ring are switched...in...
