    My “Happy Accident” plot!

I like 6 row winter barley because it gets half as tall as rye, the deer eat all of the seed heads mid summer, so If you are planting into it you don't have to worry about a crazy amount of volunteer seed germinating. Because it is short I would say you want a good 150 #/acre. When I used it...

    My “Happy Accident” plot!

Zone 4, and yes they came back in the spring. If you plant them with an awnless winter grain it is a dynamite mid summer food source. They will eat every pod and every grain heat within a couple off week of maturing.

    Your best fall mix?

I dont know if it is a soil thing or not. I plant brassica in early to mid August in Zone 4 and get softball sized turnips.

    Your best fall mix?

Depends on where you are located. For me, I like spring planted ag beans over seeded with rye and berseem clover. If it was just a green plot for attraction my go to would be Berseem Clover, Winter Rye, Sun Flowers, Tillage Radish, and Chicory. ( Not sure how much growth you would see out of...

    Spring weeds

Checked on my overseeded Winter Rye that I broadcast in early October last year. It's about 2' tall. I wish I would have sprayed it a couple of weeks ago and been planting beans this weekend but now I'm not entirely sure what I will be doing with it. I want to go back to beans but I dont have...

    Planting in annual clover?

That looks like a fairly thick stand of clover. ( Maybe it will look different once the herbicide knocks out the grasses ) I would think that the competition from the clover may be a bit much for beans and sunflowers. If it was White Dutch or Subterrainian you would more than likely be fine...

    Left Over Brassica Regrowing

I'd broadcast an annual clover sometime soon before rain then TNM your oats into it come fall. Keeping the soil covered is in your best interest.

    Rain

We are forecast to get rain today and tomorrow. Things aren't terribly dry but we could use it nonetheless.

Green Cover Summer Pressure Release mix missing

If you directly to their main location the prices are generally a fair amount cheaper. It’s a good 1.5 hrs for me and they have a dealer 4 miles down the road so that is the way I go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Conspiracy theorys, where do you stand?

I live within 45 min of Mayo Clinc. With that being said there has been several smaller clinics close in the area and probably just as many open.

    Kohlrabi Experiences

They are decent with a little salt sprinkled on them. My inlaws eat plenty of them. I'm not a big fan but...

    DNR controlled burns

Keep in mind that burn bans can change multiple times a day. With that being said rules for thee but not for me is as accurate as it gets.

Do radishes typically start growing again in the spring?

Looks like a barkant turnip to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Food Plot

I’d till it up and do a radish on radish rotation all summer long. Plant about every 45-60 days. I’d follow that up with whitetail institute Fusion about Sept 1st for your area. The annual clover will be your attraction this year while the perennial element puts down roots for next season...
