Wait til they all catch up to the ones near the quad.

not sure if there are any still available but I would be happy to pay for some starts!

I haven't checked mine in awhile,I'll get back to you.

I haven't started any from cutting in a couple years, Mon. I took some cuttings and they are already taking off.

Put me on the mailing list. I can send a check to cover costs.

I know these don't work for zone 4 and under but what if my ground doesn't freeze. Do they regrow from the ground every year? With the snow pack they would have a good level of insulation.

PM me your address I'll see if I can't get you some cutting this week.

Not sure about the freeze issue in your area. I'd give a few a try before jumping in big. Yes they resprout every year for about 20 years per the biofuel growers.

Weasel,
Just learned Scott has you covered.

Good deal.

Chummer - I have had half a dozen plants in zone 4 for ~5 years.

They have lived through some EXTREMELY cold winters.

I don't think they grow as quickly and full as those planted further south, but they sure do survive.

For an update and motivation to try some, here is my 3rd year row of MxG. I wasn't sure how it would handle a drought summer but they have done pretty well. Some look better than others and they aren't as tall as they were last year (yet hopefully). This is a double row.

Looking good!

Thanks Bill. I replied to both of you via PM. Much appreciated.

Nice! That's what they look like when they grow up. I can't wait t get back and check mine out.

Received about 3 or 4 dozen cuttings from scott44. Thank you! I have them in a big vase covered in water. They float up about 2 inches out of the water which I think is good...right? They're already sprouting too. This is so cool.

A little floating is fine. You may want a few more jars with fewer cuttings in them. In about two weeks they may become a root tangle if packed so tightly.

Weasel, in 1-2 weeks they should look like this. These have been in water since a week ago Monday. In a week or so these are going into rootmakers.

Excellent. I'll get a few more vases/jars going & spread them out. I should have time this week to spray & till a strip where I want these to go once they are sprouted & ready for planting.

Can these be directly planted at that time? Mine are going close to home so they can be babied.

I don't see why not, it's easier for me to keep them in root makers then transplant them, just keep them moist.
