    Interesting OnX find

I totaled the only new vehicle of my life; a 2020. I replaced it with something 15 years older. I don't want a truck that listens to everything I say and argues with me or allows google to admonish me for my language.

    Interesting OnX find

Onyx showed a woman in Reno owned half a million acres of central Nevada at one time. The hunters were so, so confused.

Hunting / recreation and timberland values in your location?

Recreational values in my area far exceed ag. I could expect to get $2k-3K an acre sold as ag, Sold as recreation I would be looking at $8k+/acre. The world has gone stupid.

Bought Anything Lately That Met Your Expectations?

Here's an unexpected one. I bought two of these a couple years ago for my greenhouse to control irrigation. Believe it or not, after two years of being exposed spray, freezes, 100+ degrees, and direct sun they are still working flawless, the battery is still good, and the time has not drifted...

Bought Anything Lately That Met Your Expectations?

I learned from the Mexicans in Baja that potatoes are the poor man's rain-x. Cut a potato and rub it on the window. It works.

    Stealth Cam Revolver

I have this one on my list also. It's good to see someone else be a beta tester. I have had fairly good luck with my Stealthcams, but certainly more issues with them than my Cuddebacks. The price is right. What I really like about this is it is much less likely to have someone sneak up...

Bought Anything Lately That Met Your Expectations?

I bought a 1994 Bridgeport Series 1 for $1,000. Stripped the cnc gear, added a vfd and dro. I am not disappointed at all. I bought a bit of used USA made machining stuff, not disappointed with that either.

Do you remember it being colder

On >5,000 year time scales, orbital and solar variability are the dominant control over climate. We are nearing the end of a 22,500 year wobble in earths rotation and peak insolation of northern latitudes; warming. This is what controls glacial periods @ 55,000 year intervals. On <5,000...

    Gun Cleaning Solvent?

Buy a bore scope and go insane finding out how many solvents don't solve anything. I like the foaming bore cleaners and the wipeout pre-treatment stuff, and to keep the bore scope put away unless a barrel is brand new or not shooting well anymore.

    Using old ammo….

I had a press setup, clear bottle full of powder, in a window, non-climate controlled garage for about 12 years unused. When it came time to move it, I loaded that old sun baked powder into trap loads and they shot just fine. If they are old remington rifle rounds, made in Lonoke, green and...

    6.5 creedmore?

It's still on the work bench. Headspace checks out, no change. I will be doing a complete tear down anyhow, i need to reclock the barrel since I got it upside-down the first time, and I think I will give it a little more freebore. I wished I would have had the chrono setup, that may have...

    6.5 creedmore?

That sounds like the rifle I have been dreaming of for years and could never afford/justify. I like the accuracy and precision game, but I am not in to competition. I tried it and did well, but personality conflicts with big egos proved to be something I rather avoid. I enjoy shooting the...

    6.5 creedmore?

I have been torn between the 6br and ppc, but will be going ppc simply because of reamer availability and modifying a bolt isn't a big deal. I really should have gone that route with my first barrel job, but stuck to what I know; .243w. My first barrel I did from a straight blank, just for...

    6.5 creedmore?

Same here for rifle caliber choices. I have tried to limit myself to 6mm and .308, with .22 being a given, but I broke down and bought a 6.5 prc a year ago, which I just cannot get excited about. But why do people hate on other cartridges? Well, it goes like this. I ordered a Bergara B-14 in...
